Happy n Sad. 30th June 2017
Happy and Sad ... In London this week we were pleasantly surprised by 3 of our exhomeless friends (now in hostels) - knowing how we struggle doing our Wednesday Soup Run with over-loaded luggage trolleys, They turned up to help with a bike with a carrying-box on the front, and spent the night helping us on our rounds (See photos) Because of your donations one of our homeless friends is no longer walking around in ill-fitting trainers full of holes.. 😀 Sad news has reached us that we have lost 3 of our regulars in the last few weeks - 2 in London and 1 in Maidstone 😢... and the continuing poor health of several others is a major concern to us. In Medway, London and Maidstone, the warm weather and excess alcohol consumption seems to have brought out the worst in some members of the public, with an increase in the homeless being treated as "sport" - people have been urinated on as they slept (one gentleman woke to see the culprit, whilst his friend was videoing it!!), another has been kicked in the head (for fun), others have had beer thrown on them, abuse hurled etc... please educate people that the homeless are HUMAN BEINGS. Be kind
